It's dark and rainy and I don't want to get up. Just another hour of sleep would be so helpful, right? But then if that hour comes and goes, will I want to get up? Probably not.
So instead of laying there, thinking about sleeping, I start thinking about what the day has to offer. A cup of freshly brewed coffee - it will smell and taste so good. My favorite breakfast - an egg cooked up with a little spinach and feta, wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. A quick check of emails and friend's Facebook posts - their motivating words will help me get going and ready to motivate others. The thought of a great workout to energize my body - sometimes difficult to start, but I always feel better after! There will be so many opportunities to help people get healthy - writing the Weekly Wellness Newsletter, promoting the Fruits & Vegetables Challenge, encouraging others to get some exercise and eat healthy, planning wellness programs for our clients - all things that I enjoy doing. Designing benefit portals for employers - a satisfying way to help companies keep their employees in the loop about their benefit packages. Time with my sweetheart - a walk through the woods, rain or shine, a nice dinner together - always a good way to finish up the day.
There are lots of reasons to get up! Time to get moving and embrace the day!
