Our firm recently placed number 15 in Alaska Business Monthly’s Top 49er Awards for 2009. This placement is 5 spots higher than our placement of 20 in 2008 and I have received many congratulatory comments. Although I appreciate everyone’s comments, I feel very humble knowing that this recognition is really a reflection of our staff, not necessarily me. It is through the collective efforts of every single one of them that a small (based on number of employees) Alaska company such as ours is recognized in this way! It is also important to remember that much of the growth in this metric is a result of year over year, significant increases in the price of the products we sell, which is becoming an increasing burden for our clients. We remain mindful that our Purpose is to “empower people to lead a life of significance” and we do this through Service; service to our community, customers, organization, each other and ourselves. I am grateful to our clients and staff that have led to this honor.
