I have found, after talking with many people about various subjects but most specifically employee benefits, that a lot of people don’t know what they don’t know and worse yet, don’t know that they don’t know it. As confusing as that sounds, it confuses me why business owners and CEOs will approach their benefit expense line item the same way they approach other expenses – if it’s not broke, it doesn’t need fixing (how do you know it’s broken?). But, just like technology, health care and the various financing options are changing fast and it’s important to keep up with the latest options to make sure you are leveraging your expense to its greatest potential. Ask the questions and start finding out what you don’t know.
