4 Keys to Better Health

  1. Lose weight (if appropriate)
    1. Consult with your physician
    2. Find a program with a free health coach
  2. Get proper nutrition
    1. Eat low-fat proteins (chicken, fish, beans, lentils)
    2. Eat whole grains (rather than refined)
    3. Use healthy fats (olive oil, not butter)
    4. Get your 5 servings of fruits/veggies daily
    5. Eat low-fat dairy products (milk, cheese)
    6. Drink lots of water! Take your weight, divide in half. That is the number of ounces you should drink daily.
  3. Exercise
    1. At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day. It’s ok to break it into three 10-minute segments.
  4. Sleep
    1. Aim for 7-8 hours per night 
    2. Go to bed and get up at the same time – every day
    3. No television in the bedroom
